All good things must come to an end…
And it is both with sadness and joy that we say goodbye to our colleague and friend Frank who retires after over 30 years service here at S&D Landscapes
Here at S&D Landscapes we offer a wide range of services within the arboriculture field, popular services include Tree Coppicing, Tree Felling, Crown Reduction, Crown Lifting & Hedge Trimming to name a few (Click to view full Details of our Tree Care Services)
Tree surgery is a large feature in the cultivation, management and study of trees, shrubs and other plants. This means that it is a professional practice within arboriculture. Arborists do not work with forests or large areas of plants, but continually focus on the health of individual trees and plants. More specifically, a tree surgeon is a horticultural engineer who is responsible for the maintenance and repair of trees. This often includes the climbing of trees to reach the area that needs attention.
Is the outside of your company or premises looking tired and neglected? Are weeds taking over? It doesn’t look professional does it? If you are able to answer yes to any of those questions then perhaps it is time to ring a professional commercial landscaper Leeds.
The outside of your property is of course the first thing customers will see and what they will potentially judge your business on ‘first impressions’ So really perhaps calling in a professional commercial landscaper is what’s needed to get things looking spic and span!
For many years, S&D Landscapes have undertaken a whole range of woodland planting and hedgerow planting on reclamation projects across the Yorkshire region. This process is typically used where the land is not suitable for general cropping, marginal land, to disguise buildings and roadways, or could be to create a shelter belt/wind protection.
Here is an example of a major driveway refurbishment for a local GP at his home. The brief was to create an extensive parking area and driveway to access the property, also to reduce the gradient on the existing ramp to the house and garage which was very steep. It involved demolition of the existing hard surface and walls and was followed by cutting and filling the area to create new levels and a gradual slope to access the elevated site.
The compacted sub-base was overlaid using Marshall’s Tegula paving retained by brick walls and the surrounding area planted with new trees and shrubs to form a transition from paving to lawn level.
We love the daily challenges we face in the landscaping Industry and nothing gives us greater pleasure than to see to the fruits of our labour as a project develops.
We were fortunate enough to have won a tender for the recent development of Aldi’s South Yorkshire distribution depot at Goldthorpe Barnsley. Building work commenced on the project by DSPCM Ltd in 2013 and to this day we are still undertaking various landscaping works which are continuously adding to this fantastic project.
Over the past few years S&D Landscapes ltd, West Yorkshire have carried out Tree Felling, Tree Pruning and Vegetation Maintenance on the Leeds inner city beck and drainage system for Peter Duffy ltd on behalf of Leeds City Council.
The work consists of a combined enviromentally safe chemical treatment and a physical regime of vegetation and silt removal including the control of notifiable weeds such as Japanese Knotweed, Hymalayan Balsom and Giant Hogweed, together with the removal of fallen trees and branches which if left unchecked could lead to localised flooding. Wild flower seed and low maintenance grass seed has been broadcast and established on eroded areas of the embankments all as part of the general improvement programme.
Navigation Point is a new community comprising riverside houses and flats near to the junction of the River Aire and River Calder.
It’s unique location provides an unsurpassed environment where people can live, work & play.
S&D Landscapes are pleased to announce sponsorship of Featherstone Rovers Rugby League football club as part of their player sponsor programme.
As avid followers of the team, the opportunity to get involved in supporting the club was a real pleasure. Any sports team is only ever as good as its players, and we feel the same can be said in Business. One thing we really pride our compnay on is how well we all work as part of a team so heres to what we hope is a successful year for us here at S&D Landscapes and of course for Featherstone Rover Rugby Club out there on the pitch.
